Back to Week 4

So, I haven't done pushups in at least a couple of weeks. That's why I'm starting over on Week 4. It is HARD to backtrack. Goodness gracious. I literally have a headache from doing the push-ups just now.

3 down

So I just looked at the pushup videos. Great job to Roncarlo, Rhymenocerous and Kat! I think they did a good job with their pushups. I was definitely laughing at Rhymen's push-ups as the counter started losing track as well as his butt raises.

Anyways... let's try and get those other video's up. You have about 5 more days (as of this post timestamped in Beijing)

One hundred and three-ish

Sorry for falling off the map for a while but my shoulder took a couple of weeks to get better, then a few days of easing back into it to finally get here. So here's my video. I added a few extra pushups for good measure. My arms are floppy and the my little boy you can kind of hear in the background needs to be carried (wish me luck). I can't lie, hearing him playing and laughing helped me a bit.

Fitness kick

so i just renewed my motivation for working out today after watching Kat's video....very proud of you girl! and also b/c a friend made a comment on how "super skinny" i've become ever since moving out here. i'd didn't really believe it until thinking about it after reading my friend's email. i guess it's a combination of the running streak, pushup bet, brief football practice and the fact that the food out here has no preservatives at all! gabi keeps me on a very good diet so i have her to thank for it as well. in any case, i ran 1 mile today in 8:28 and did 60 pushups just for fun. i'll try to do 100 each week. wish me luck.

Happy Birthday Roncarlo!

Just want to wish a Happy Birthday to Roncarlo who turns 51 today. He looks young because of all the pushups he can do. As far as I know, Roncarlo is currently partying in Transylvania, Romania where he's probably drinking Glenlivet and tequila neck shots.

week 6---uno mas

so i had to re-do week 6 cause i'm a dork. i didn't realize that we're doubling up on the sets. i was wondering why the numbers decreased. anyway, i don't mind repeating wk 6; i need more practice. so far, my pushups have been: 22-22-20-20-17-17-15-15-50. good luck to all who are at 100!

final test take 1

so i did my final test already and had no problem doing the 100...gabi counted for me. however, the video didn't capture the whole length of my body. so it could be open to scrutiny. so i shall wait until tomorrow and do the pushups again.

i must say though, the 100 is getting easier and easier the more i do them. keep it up everyone!!

Final Test Reminder

Hey everyone! Just a quick reminder that starting the 17th until the 31st you'll need to upload a video of you doing 100 push-ups. There's actually a way to upload the video through the blog edit tool. Keep in mind that most of your video's will be HUGE and those with slow connections (Roncarlo being one of them) will have to go to either an internet cafe or find someone with a DSL/Cable modem.

I personally will wait until the very last day because I'm still on week 4. But if you're ready, do it now and get it over with. I'd start taping your exhaustion tests just in case you're able to do 100 pushups.

Hope you're all able to do them otherwise one or two people will have some traveling money going their way.

Week 4, Day 3 - I'm struggling

The past few times I've done my push-ups have been excruciating. I just haven't been well-rested, and now I think I'm getting sick. *cough* Didn't have time to do push-ups Friday or Saturday so I had to do them today. 30-22-22-20-50. This probably isn't accurate since I waited about 15 minutes in between sets for the first three sets since I kept getting caught up with work and would forget that I was in the middle of doing my push-ups. Ha! Nevertheless, my final number still sux. My body is rejecting the pushsups.

Now I have to do my exhaustion test tonight since I want to start my Week 5 program tomorrow...in Mexico. Not sure if this is going to work out. Ugh.

One more thing - my friend (and Helen's) has a website FitFiend.com. I was talking to him about our blog, and he exlaimed,"Why didn't you blog on my website??!!!!!" I'm like, ummmmm, didn't realize I could do that. So I think he wants to try to get this blog on his site.

another exhaustion test

i hit 100 again, but this time i struggled a lot more than expected....maybe it's b/c i stopped doing the weekly pushups...

anyways, i got up to 80....no problem....i stopped to catch my breath and then continued...i mean struggled to eek out 20 more. i did 5 more, then 3, 2, 3, 3, 2, 1, 1.....

my goal this week is to do 100 more on friday and possibly on sunday, then do my test for you guys sometime next week.

Man down!

I finished Week 6 a couple of days ago and really overdid it. Week 5 and 6 are killers, just don't overdo it, remember you can redo the weeks, learn from me. I really wanted the to reach the goals of the last day and in the process pulled something on my back below my right shoulder. Nothing horrible but I'm going to have to take a few days off to recover. Good thing we have a few more weeks. I'm going to repeat Week 6 at least two more times before I can get to 100.

Week 6:

Update

I can't believe it's already week 6. Seriously? In no way am I ready to do 100 though. Did the exhaustion test over the weekend and actually made it to 50. Whole lotta shakin' and sweatin' goin' on by the end! So the first day of week 6, here's how it went: 42-35-32-30-45
What are the exact rules when it comes to finally doing the 100 push ups? Can we pause in the middle of it? And how do you define "pause"? I'm thinking it's in the "up" position of the push-up where hands/arms are extended, not bent.

just did another exhaustion test....managed only 90 pushups. in my defense, i'm not feeling 100%. i'll get back on track.
